From Eva (year 1):
Canute was a king. At first he wasn't a good king. But in the end he was good and wise. And his nobles thought it pleased him if they told him that he was awesome and powerful. They said he had power over the waves. And Canute thought "I should teach those silly nobles a lesson." He ordered his servants to bring it down at the sea shore. He sat and he started to talk to the sea. He said "Do not get my land wet, do not dare to wet my feet." Soon his robe and feet were wet. He stood up and told his nobles that they were being silly.
